Since a fair number of you have been messaging and asking us if we could send 0day Hunter, the first single origin of the month in our line up to roast earlier than originally planned (end of March), we decided to move everything up by a month and send BOTH our first batch of 1337 Coffee and 0day Hunter to the roasters!
So what is 0day Hunter? A single origin bean from Columbia roasted to bring out flavors of mandarin oranges, plums and caramel. Yummy just like your 0days! 🙂
Produced by the Santa Barbara, La Joyeria estate, these lots are grown at an average altitude of 1700 meters and are 100% Colombia variety. Each lot is composed of two days worth of picking; the coffee picked on the second day is added to the first after 24 hours fermentation and then left to ferment in the tanks for a further 24 hours. In this method of fermentation, the second batch raises the ph level of the fermentation tank, permitting longer fermentation times without the acetic acid produced by bacteria at a lower ph level.
In other news, since dine-in is now allowed, it looks like we’ll be able to have a little cafe warming party on the 13th of March! Renovations for The Space begin at the end of this week and we’re heading up this Wednesday to hand over the keys to the interior design team!
So what’s the plan for launch day? Well apart from finally being able to let you guys try our beans, we’ll also be giving away bean samples to everyone who visits us on the 13th and 14th. We’ll also do a special 2-day only offer for in-house pick ups / self collection. Stay tuned 🙂
